Job Summary:
The Water Resources Engineer (Mechanical) will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing mechanical systems related to water resource projects. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application to water resource management. The Water Resources Engineer (Mechanical) will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute mechanical designs for water resource projects, including water treatment plants, pumping stations, distribution systems, and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Conduct feasibility studies, evaluate potential risks, and provide technical recommendations for mechanical systems implementation.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment with design specifications, project objectives, and client requirements.
- Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and documentation related to mechanical engineering aspects of water resource projects.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and modeling to assess system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to mechanical engineering in water resource management.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on water resource projects.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and standards.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex mechanical systems and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and effectively communicate with team members from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and guidelines related to water resource management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
